Itinera Nova. New ways to the digital access of archival sources is a project of the Leuven City Archive. Our intention is to develop the best possible digital access to the more than one thousand registers of the court of aldermen in Leuven (1362-1795). In ten years all approximately 950.000 pages will be digitized.

The digital images will be available on this project website. The acts, from sale to inheritance, from neighbours’ quarrel to acknowledgement of debt, will be provided with an index and a full transcription. Along a community of volunteers will help to increase the accessibility of this rich source by transcribing in a wiki-environment.
